<br /><br />I recently ordered soaps to give as gifts. Maria, owner of <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/Kokolele" target="_blank">Kokolele Soaps</a> on Etsy, has been my go-to person for handmade soaps for the past 10 years. Not only are her soaps impressive, they trump my packaging expectations.<br />
<br />
Packaging is the first thing your customers see once your product is actually in their hands.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
<b>KEY POINTS:</b></div>
<br />
<b>Use of protective wrap </b>around product to prevent damage by dents, scratches and breakage during shipping speaks volumes about the customer service ethics of your company.<br />

<b>Impress customers by</b> including a handwritten note with your
product. <br />
<br />
<b>Ensure your product, </b>customer service, packaging, and shipping all live up to the hype promised.<br />
<br />
<b>Be sure to follow up</b> with customers a day or two after they should
have received their order to make sure they are happy with everything.<br />

<b><br /> Stay up-to-date on your competitor’s </b>prices,<br />
services, discounts, and
marketing promotions. If you can’t lower your
prices as much as your competitors, then make sure customers
understand how your product is worth the extra money. <b><br /></b><br />
<b>Remember, first impressions are everything.</b> The way you package your product is a
way of putting your best “face” forward to a potential customer when
they encounter your product for the first time.<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYmY9QG-i1fXxlTXFIBhF0ddYId1yBOcLwpGCAThGYGpHBqPDnkFT3t8PqMxM0pTXOtgcbQf6J46B0gS9BNSWXLMV2vSEhB31klGo7V8k-SeiVKd8LCM_cMsKV5UzTSgMHXN9zzA/s1600/Letters_KATE.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYmY9QG-i1fXxlTXFIBhF0ddYId1yBOcLwpGCAThGYGpHBqPDnkFT3t8PqMxM0pTXOtgcbQf6J46B0gS9BNSWXLMV2vSEhB31klGo7V8k-SeiVKd8LCM_cMsKV5UzTSgMHXN9zzA/s200/Letters_KATE.jpg" width="200" /></a><br />

<br />
My life has been topsy-turvy. I sold my home of 28 (memorable) years and moved both GoPlanetEarth / Mold Market companies to our fulfillment center in Spokane Washington. In the process, my husband and I are building our <i>lakefront golden years</i> retirement home.<br />
<br />
It's been both exciting and exhausting. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

What does this mean for you?</h3>

It's just my opinion, but I believe Go Planet Earth (GPE) and Mold Market (MM) have some of the best soap colors on the market. Just take a look at some of the color intensity intensity that you can achieve with our liquid gel colorants.<br />
<br />
I think many of my long-term customers will agree it's hard to beat the color results you get with our Neon Brights.<br />
<br />
Look for an upcoming tutorial that showcases the technique used to make these colorful layered soaps. All were made with Mold Market molds.<br />

<br />
There are plenty of changes and new in the works at our parent company, Nouveau Designs LLC. Recently, we set up a fulfillment center in Spokane, Washington which is where Mold Market brand molds are manufactured. This means most orders ship the same day as received. That's a big plus in our minds.<br />
<br />
Now that the hectic move is over, we are concentrating on our new line of chalk paints. We are in the process of testing, testing and then more testing. The results are exceptional and we plan to launch this new product within the next two weeks.<br />
<br />
If you are not familiar with chalk paints, let me share with you what this amazing product can do.<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>This non-carcinogenic paint covers everything, no kidding! It can be use on glass, metal, wood, leather, Formica, concrete and even fabric. </li>
<li>With this paint, you can literally start and finish a piece of furniture within a day.</li>
<li>No prep work (like sanding) is required.</li>
<li>Paint colors can be layered to achieve a distressed look (shabby chic) to your project.</li>
<li>28 colors available</li>
<li>Colors can be blended to create a custom color</li>
<li>One pint of paint will easily cover up to 50 square feet. If you think in the terms of furniture, that's two dressers.</li>
<li>Water-based, so it cleans up easily with water.</li>
</ul>

The possibilities of this chalk paint are endless. In January 2015 we will introduce a new product line to use with our Mold Market chalk paint. However, 'HUSH' is the word for now.<br />
<br />
A one-pint container of Mold Market Chalk Paint retails for $22.95 and a 4-ounce jar retails at $9.95.<br />
<br />
We will also offer a line of Metallic Dusting Powders to enhance the finished look of your chalk painted projects.<br />
<br />
<br />
Take a look at some of the furniture and projects we have done with these awesome paints. <br />

Here are a few of the finished results. My granddaughter, Olivia, and two of her friends had a great time sprinkling the glitter on the doilies. Of course, the island counter in the kitchen was one sticky mess.<br />
<br />
A spray adhesive was used to apply the glitter. The technique was more like spray, sprinkle and shake. The excess glitter was collected off the craft trays for a future project.<br />

My personal taste leaned more toward white sparkle and iridescent shred glitters, but the girls were all about pink and purple. No matter the color of glitter used, they were all beautiful. Each of the girls took home two snowflake doilies to hang in the bedroom window.<br />

<br />This easy holiday decor was made from a thrift store picture frame, minus the cracked glass, and and miscellaneous ornaments. Ribbon remnants were used to string the ornaments to the back of the frame. For ease, I used a general purpose staple gun to hold the ribbon-strung ornaments to the back-side of the frame.<br />

The original color of the frame was silver, but I painted it red and then sanded areas of the frame to allow the under-layer of silver to show through.<br /><br />This holiday frame has so many possibilities. You can hang on the wall or place on a shelf unit. A over the door hanger is another option (the kind you use to hang a door wreath).<br /><br />The glass could have left in the frame and a window rub-off applique applied beneath the Christmas bulbs, i.e., Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas.<br /><br />An affordable handmade gift for the holidays. I am always in search of new craft ideas to do with the grandkids. Last night we mixed glue and water to make a DIY fabric stiffener for these doilies that will be used to hang in windows for the holidays.<br />
<br />
My five-year old grandson got a bit carried away with the dipping process and we may have to let his doilies dry for another night.<br />
<br />
Tonight, we will be using glitter spray on the snowflake doilies and then hanging them from the sliding glass doors using suction cup holders. The kids are excited and I will post the final glittered snowflakes tomorrow.<br />
<br />
Hobby Lobby sells doilies in 12-packs at a reasonable price, or check out Ebay. Here is what you will need for this project.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

<li>50:50 ration of white glue to water. Mix well in an large mixing bowl until the consistency of milk.</li>
<li>Cloth doilies</li>
<li>Plastic garbage bag for laying out the doilies after they are immersed in the stiffener</li>
<li>Spray glitter product (or you can spray the dried doilies with adhesive glue spray and sprinkle with glitter</li>
<li>Suction cup window hangers</li>
<li>Invisible thread for hanging the snowflakes</li>
</ul>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIce8rIfCMhMEinLkuulxB4TqXDJI0JCvsJ4HRmLTqU7sMIQl8LA2t8lCJXUT1BJXjsxmnTM3sDveVYSdRxlqhXjI5heXoAxQrFLmV-n8MMk5oD_HceWWPZ9Xy3bSEALdSdCENkg/s1600/IMG_5088.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIce8rIfCMhMEinLkuulxB4TqXDJI0JCvsJ4HRmLTqU7sMIQl8LA2t8lCJXUT1BJXjsxmnTM3sDveVYSdRxlqhXjI5heXoAxQrFLmV-n8MMk5oD_HceWWPZ9Xy3bSEALdSdCENkg/s1600/IMG_5088.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Submerge each doily into the glue mixture until fully saturated. Gently squeeze away any excess liquid and lay the doily flat on the plastic garbage bag.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_1m811mACRDlH5ReZOT7KnyBFCES8xsjKX6n0i4QzrgjKF1j8Sl2Xx3kbtB8aweBeGiP1afIUXLgeQBvscGCO1CbXL8ORe7uUUYBGz5cuewNr2_Iotjk_zMzQCKcpgTA9L4xWcg/s1600/IMG_5089.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_1m811mACRDlH5ReZOT7KnyBFCES8xsjKX6n0i4QzrgjKF1j8Sl2Xx3kbtB8aweBeGiP1afIUXLgeQBvscGCO1CbXL8ORe7uUUYBGz5cuewNr2_Iotjk_zMzQCKcpgTA9L4xWcg/s1600/IMG_5089.JPG" height="150" width="200" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Allow the doilies to air dry overnight. If they still appear to be damp, let them set out until completely stiff and there is no sign of moisture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT8dvwHUNC5zuU755rcUaulcgQtshe1S5zeZaAXtRlgS4Htr5eKFtwq-2CMhOUbQDg2SgpwLhyqbk7mVT5uTjfrBGns653ctvA5nzOs4Y7WjTTWA8s8frPiM1qxtNLnG2YdnDlDw/s1600/IMG_5078.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT8dvwHUNC5zuU755rcUaulcgQtshe1S5zeZaAXtRlgS4Htr5eKFtwq-2CMhOUbQDg2SgpwLhyqbk7mVT5uTjfrBGns653ctvA5nzOs4Y7WjTTWA8s8frPiM1qxtNLnG2YdnDlDw/s1600/IMG_5078.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGIgHDiMhYVcwL_NMgBBxWKIf8KinuWbH1-BXULptgv21XhGY-lIWEvP_WbJGszioult8D9ioRX6TnSzKmmhn3Y5NYXO0thFcyD-6Cl4ajxzEcStKypNyVGkDY7wgUI0bILEdmDg/s1600/IMG_5113.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGIgHDiMhYVcwL_NMgBBxWKIf8KinuWbH1-BXULptgv21XhGY-lIWEvP_WbJGszioult8D9ioRX6TnSzKmmhn3Y5NYXO0thFcyD-6Cl4ajxzEcStKypNyVGkDY7wgUI0bILEdmDg/s1600/IMG_5113.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Gently lift the doilies from the plastic bag and flip them over to allow air to completely circulate to both the front and back sides of the fabric. You can either hang the doily snowflakes as is, or add sparkle by applying iridescent glitter to each side. (see my <a href="http://goplanetearth.blogspot.com/2014/12/vintage-doily-window-ornaments-part-2.html" target="_blank">Part 2 post</a> for using glitter).<br />
<br />
The stiffened doilies also look nice inside a picture frame. Remove the frame's glass and cut and cover a piece of cardboard to fit the frame opening. Burlap material works well, or use brown Kraft paper or scrapbook paper. Hot glue the doilies in place. <br />

<br />This is one of the many holiday gifts that I am giving to family this Christmas season. I purchased two vintage baby walking shoes from a local thrift store (bells included). To give added weight to each shoe, I poured plaster Paris into a zip lock bag and tucked into the shoe. The plaster was still wet so it formed to the shape of the shoe.<br /><br />Thrift store doily finds were tucked inside the shoe and hot glued in place. The photos are held in place by silver place card holders I had left over from a wedding event. A small pine and berries were seated in place with hot glue.<br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfEqMpjlkRGSomyUkVjcMDIMqnJa9GiK5dogPihJ0qaLrb1-_InBAwDuQYs7NhrXT1_D171VpcsQuAblDK8U2rVWN6RrsuG6MX1qsJAOxLaysFU9Z4sIvtQpANqS5jcE2LSBoBJQ/s1600/IMG_5040.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfEqMpjlkRGSomyUkVjcMDIMqnJa9GiK5dogPihJ0qaLrb1-_InBAwDuQYs7NhrXT1_D171VpcsQuAblDK8U2rVWN6RrsuG6MX1qsJAOxLaysFU9Z4sIvtQpANqS5jcE2LSBoBJQ/s1600/IMG_5040.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br /><br />Decorative scrapbook punches can be used to dress up the photo backing. To add to the vintage flair, I place satin ribbon just below the shoe tongue. There are countless variations you can use with our GPE water dissolving paper. We have even included a FREE template in this post.<br />
<br />
Here are a few of the soaps made by Sophie Soap Chick. Instructions to make Robo-Soaps are given below. These soaps are perfectly sized for little hands.<br />
<br />
<b>Here's What You Need:</b><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Mold Market's Robot Mold </li>
<li>Water Dissolving Paper ( to print Robot Chest Parts)</li>
<li>Fragrance Oil and Soap Colorants</li>
<li>Clear and white Soap Base <br />
</li>
<li>Alcohol Spray</li>
<li>Soap Injector Tool</li>
<br />
</ul>
<ol>
<li>To make the robot, melt 7 cubes of Clear Soap Base in the microwave. Heat in a glass measuring cup in short bursts of heat until melted. The pouring temperature should be about 140 degrees.<br />
</li>
<li><a href="http://goplanetearth.com/Robot%20Parts.pdf" target="_blank">Print and cut out Robot Chest Parts</a> using the Water Dissolving Paper (instructions included <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

when you purchase the paper from GoPlanetEarth). <br />
</li>
<li>Select chest designs and colors to coordinate with the color of the eyes, hands, feet, and main body. So depending on what design you choose, pick a color that corresponds with it.<br />
</li>
<li>If you want to keep the robot plain, pour a thin layer of Clear Soap Base and once almost set, gently lay the cut out of the robot chest down in that area and spray the alcohol spray on the back to make it lay properly. Once that was close to being set, continue with another layer of clear and repeat until finished filling the mold.<br />
</li>
<li>If you want the eyes, feet, and hands to be another color: melt a cube of White Soap Base and mix that with the color of your choice and add fragrance. Use the Soap Injector Tool to fill in those areas.<br />
</li>
<li> When these areas have set up, pour a layer of clear soap base and follow the above steps to get your perfect robot.<br />
</li>
<li>If you wanted to have a shine through of color as well you would continue with all the above steps and once you are at the last level to pour, use a color instead of clear. </li>

What a fun soap and perfect for a pirate themed or Halloween party. It is made with Mold Market's Cupcake and Large Bath Bomb molds. Here's how:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><a href="http://www.goplanetearth.com/molds_animals_misc.html#originalcupcake" target="_blank">Mold Market Cupcake Soap Mold</a></li>
<li><a href="http://goplanetearth.com/bases_melt_pour_soap.html#cubedbase" target="_blank">White Soap Base</a></li>
<li><a href="http://goplanetearth.com/bases_melt_pour_soap.html#cubedbase" target="_blank">Clear Soap Base</a></li>
<li><a href="http://goplanetearth.com/fragrance_a_j.html" target="_blank">Fragrance Oil</a> (we recommend 1 teaspoon per 1/2 pound of soap base used)</li>

</ul>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<ol>
<li>Melt 4 cubes of White Soap Base and add fragrance (Make sure to use a
fragrance that is clear so it does not cause the white to be a
yellow color, if that happens no need to worry! Just use a drop or
so of <a href="http://goplanetearth.com/colors_mineral_oxides.html" target="_blank">White Colorant</a>. </li>
<li>Spray alcohol spray into
the Large Bath Bomb Mold and pour in the white soap and finish off <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

with
a few more spray of alcohol. While this sets up, melt 8
cubes of Clear Soap Base in the same manner as used for the white base. Add a few drops of <a href="http://goplanetearth.com/colors_mineral_oxides.html" target="_blank">Black Oxide Colorant</a> and fragrance oil; gently stir together.</li>
<li>Spray alcohol spray into the cupcake bottom
mold and pour until full. Pour the remaining soap into the Jelly Roll Tray. </li>
<li>Once the soap in Jelly Roll is set up, carve out the eyes and stitched mouth. Attach them all together using a
little bit of melted down clear soap base. Once set, you have
yourself a spooky spin off of a well known Halloween movie that
everyone will know and love! </li>

After the black is set, repeat the steps with White Soap Base to use for the back of the eyes. Use the Recessed Smoother Soap Tool to out the black pupils, hair, eyelids, nose, and stitches from the layer of black soap you removed from the jelly roll tray. <br />
<br />
When the white soap is set, carve out the back parts of the eye and made sure they fit behind the already carved eyelids. Once all the cut-outs are completed, melt a block of Clear Soap Base and attach all the facial features!</span> </span></span>

<br />
I promised to make these with the grandkids last month. Last night, we finally found time to create these slimy worms to celebrate Halloween. The kids are so excied to take take a baggie full of these worms in their lunch on Monday to share with friends.<br />
<br />
For those interested, here is the delicious recipe. <br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWeDiMTIfD-lHb-4gPgwMFHbTgJG5Yqilm1XcTt5NSLyzfo2zAOMdVIERTEM8h6NPgYvN1SmgmzXFYxoFixGAi9KGNX63AgapaxkXw2xD9mMNQoUrfMDuHWoZJdmmZSMVQxlULPQ/s1600/IMG_4124.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWeDiMTIfD-lHb-4gPgwMFHbTgJG5Yqilm1XcTt5NSLyzfo2zAOMdVIERTEM8h6NPgYvN1SmgmzXFYxoFixGAi9KGNX63AgapaxkXw2xD9mMNQoUrfMDuHWoZJdmmZSMVQxlULPQ/s1600/IMG_4124.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a><br />
<b>INGREDIENTS:</b><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>1 pkg. (6 ox) purple gelatin/jello</li>
<li>3/4 ounce (3 envelops) unflavored gelatin</li>
<li>3 cups boiling water</li>
<li>3/4 cups heavy whipping cream</li>
<li>green and red food coloring</li>
<li>100 plastic straws with bendable necks</li>
</ul>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>HOW TO:</b><br />
<br />
<ol><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdC5XNM_MYfTpPncGb9xT3hH9cNSRwm2bhTO9n0UUbCNuYuZe2IzieBAjOTS7tpjw_kwa58Tq6_znpGDfmGDIDWVHvwTKkg4ZZsh3TLY_V50grCilSQ9QhIHSjyv1GQPB12onxKA/s1600/IMG_4137.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdC5XNM_MYfTpPncGb9xT3hH9cNSRwm2bhTO9n0UUbCNuYuZe2IzieBAjOTS7tpjw_kwa58Tq6_znpGDfmGDIDWVHvwTKkg4ZZsh3TLY_V50grCilSQ9QhIHSjyv1GQPB12onxKA/s1600/IMG_4137.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a>
<li>You will need a container that holds at least 4 cups of liquid and is as tall as it wide (so that the jello mixture will fill all the straws). </li>
<li>Make sure straws are flush with the bottom of the container. The bendable part of the straw should be fully extended and facing toward the bottom of the container.</li>
<li>I used rubber bands to help hold the straws together.</li>
<li>Combine the flavored and unflavored gelatin in a bowl. Stir in the boiling water and stir until completely dissolved. Set aside for about 20 minutes before stirring in the whipping cream.</li>
<li>Add 20 drops of green food coloring and 10 drops of red.</li>
<li>Place the container of straws in another container to catch any overflow.</li>
<li>Slowly pour the jello mixture into the straws. There will be jello that seeps up the sides of the container. That is OK. As long as the straws are tightly packed, the jello will fill the straws.</li>
<li>Chill the jello filled straws overnight. This is where it gets messy.</li>
<li>Run warm water the sides of the container that holds the straw. Wiggle the straws around until you are able to remove them.</li>
<li>There will be plenty of jello blob that follows this removal process. You don't want any of that mess. </li>
<li>Gently extract the jello worm from each straw by tightly holding the top of the straw and applying pressure down the entire length of the straw with your thumb and forefinger.</li>
<li>The straws will be slippery, so you may need to wipe them with a paper towel before you extract the worm.</li>
<li>Place extracted worms in a bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve.</li>
</ol>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmbk0k8HnlOAm0K1d6yrRego2He1iOigzOgZNuSmgzeEv0xqVZ8U9DQ_Fcj0AgBM2FmLCbKxO7-2sI931laDiKGPVSKdayZvE1fgxz5cJF3yl6DF1Cszkq3SQ824wM_5nqBFPAnQ/s1600/IMG_3845.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmbk0k8HnlOAm0K1d6yrRego2He1iOigzOgZNuSmgzeEv0xqVZ8U9DQ_Fcj0AgBM2FmLCbKxO7-2sI931laDiKGPVSKdayZvE1fgxz5cJF3yl6DF1Cszkq3SQ824wM_5nqBFPAnQ/s1600/IMG_3845.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This idea started with a small dresser I purchased at a garage sale for $30. At the time, I was clueless what I would do with this piece of furniture until yesterday when I learned a good friend's father had passed away suddenly. I wanted to gift something more than the usual florist arrangements. I surveyed what I had on hand and pick up additional items at the local farmer's market to make a Bountiful Blessings basket.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglA2soFIrYutaT4HzRYb6AsDNlM4sZujYkwfER7PdllsZ9Ok5HN2DONjk4Ai3x45QJCo6FkU1GPH1OVnv80iyhtmI-TmymDK4hbPKCZ3lnGbl6cUwP7O7bOvWh9AxiMR7DZ6MzYg/s1600/IMG_3805.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglA2soFIrYutaT4HzRYb6AsDNlM4sZujYkwfER7PdllsZ9Ok5HN2DONjk4Ai3x45QJCo6FkU1GPH1OVnv80iyhtmI-TmymDK4hbPKCZ3lnGbl6cUwP7O7bOvWh9AxiMR7DZ6MzYg/s1600/IMG_3805.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I started by spray painting the drawer in contrasting fall colors. The local farm down the road donated a garbage bag full of unbundled straw which I used to fill the drawer.<br />
<br />
Holes were drilled in the sides of the drawer to create faux handles. I used the straw rope that was attached to the dried vines I purchased at the market. <br />
<br />
The drawer knobs were reattached for decoration and the Bountiful Blessings lettering was applied.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMAZS5Lo4XMFiV4OZvfrozxINmDBpHC6FgZeGPN7PgbCyjTnjvjlLpD4NaLkQFtEY0qK_lCmUkzKc2dHaHqd4eBJ4fvcY-Rj4T-Dbw6RGk80-DaSsjtt9mAqoXx6XlfR4xKdBcJg/s1600/IMG_3807.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMAZS5Lo4XMFiV4OZvfrozxINmDBpHC6FgZeGPN7PgbCyjTnjvjlLpD4NaLkQFtEY0qK_lCmUkzKc2dHaHqd4eBJ4fvcY-Rj4T-Dbw6RGk80-DaSsjtt9mAqoXx6XlfR4xKdBcJg/s1600/IMG_3807.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I played around with the arrangement to get a feel for item placement and balance. The Osage Oranges were a great addition and freely drop from the trees that line my property.<br />
<br />

<br />I recently attended a birthday party the the daughter of a close friend. I wanted to do something extra special and decided to re-purpose a desk chair for her bedroom. Upon seeing the chair, Chloe exclaimed, "Yay, now I can get rid of the boring chair that I have!" I took that as affirmation that she loved the chair as much as I did.<br />
<br />
Since then, I was commissioned to do another chair identical to this one and I'm quite happy to be dipping my paint brush in colors into the midnight hour.<br /><br />My <a href="http://goplanetearth.blogspot.com/2014/08/the-crying-chair-project.html" target="_blank">Crying Chairs</a> are made for the outdoors, but this birthday chair is for indoor use only. It can be personalized with or without a name or date and is perfect for a sun room or enclosed pool or patio area.<br />

<br />
I snagged this pink lampshade at a garage sale this weekend for $2. After a quick trip to the Goodwill store to scour for old jewelry and lace, this was the result. Total project cost was under $10.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxMNgsf14fQOZkvFQFxdDzB4yXBHqSDt4mHrnLL3XS5PCKAeqtq8CngrIDlt-bDzFS-KEgfCcetdGslKLKoiiHB7tl-FxlZwI0G-Zqm_TaSEPVvBT_003AeyljWTdnbfRZzvZtpg/s1600/IMG_2901.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxMNgsf14fQOZkvFQFxdDzB4yXBHqSDt4mHrnLL3XS5PCKAeqtq8CngrIDlt-bDzFS-KEgfCcetdGslKLKoiiHB7tl-FxlZwI0G-Zqm_TaSEPVvBT_003AeyljWTdnbfRZzvZtpg/s1600/IMG_2901.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Lace was re-purposed from a second-hand top. I cut around the lace to use on the lampshade and will use the remaining material for a future project. A hot glue gun was used to secure the lace to the top edge of the lampshade.<br />
<br />

Old jewelry found at yard sales is perfect for adding ornate features to DIY projects. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ8DjKAZ6DMWTnP2WXvLB83uwKnCaEFvntCLLx_RVC4vrSNPEXAqicQsMX8AjhWJv0x6VYVk6g48noLnoz3hB9SZrHN5jY8AgRB8ZVw6yrD1hZG802RiObj00t764gq_TdC27YPg/s1600/IMG_2907.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ8DjKAZ6DMWTnP2WXvLB83uwKnCaEFvntCLLx_RVC4vrSNPEXAqicQsMX8AjhWJv0x6VYVk6g48noLnoz3hB9SZrHN5jY8AgRB8ZVw6yrD1hZG802RiObj00t764gq_TdC27YPg/s1600/IMG_2907.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Safety pins were used to temporarily position the jewelry where I wanted it. Once everything was in place, I secured the pieces with a needle and thread. <br />

Holes will be drilled in the bottom of each China piece. The lamp cord and rod will be threaded through the drilled holes. <br />
<br />
Once assembled, the China pieces will be spray painted an antique cream color. I'll post later on the drilling process and show the finished lamp.<br />
<br />
FYI: Picked up the china pieces at Goodwill for 30 cents each. It was 1/2 off all blue tags. I can make the teacup/saucer base for around $3. Makes me giddy thinking about it.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32453775.post-2488625066497721052014-08-03T08:14:00.000-04:002014-08-03T08:17:10.015-04:00The Crying Chair Project<a data-pin-config="above" data-pin-do="buttonPin" href="https://www.pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fgoplanetearth.blogspot.com%2F2014%2F08%2Fthe-crying-chair-project.html&media=http%3A%2F%2F3.bp.blogspot.com%2F-fJxT04mOntQ%2FU94dur_US2I%2FAAAAAAAAGnw%2FTBjP_0x6tqo%2Fs1600%2F10557328_10152337575753737_8223317567904898536_n.jpg&description=The%20Crying%20Chair.%20A%20special%20chair%20where%20someone%20can%20bear%20their%20loss%20and%20grief.%20"><img src="//assets.pinterest.com/images/pidgets/pinit_fg_en_rect_gray_20.png" /></a><br />

<br />
Last fall, a dear friend of mine lost her son to an accidental overdose of a prescription drug. As you can imagine, she is overwhelmed with grief daily. Long after the sympathy cards, phone calls and visits have ceased, the loneliness consumes the heart and mind. <br />
<br />
I gifted this crying chair to my friend on her birthday. It's a quiet place where she can kneel and let her tears water the soil of her buried grief. It was a labor of love and the pictures below show the progress. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIVb-Go_XSyeIiPPPAyOpbAo5GeRUXFgOT4gRn_b1PT_pP5DP0Xga8wEVq7EIEZnRfPtg6V-dkhFVZ7CEEU0lRqoSqGP4ACwrccGpRcyzgOqg9NtEFLSlANewENgNh41DypxlZIg/s1600/10462561_10152310550968737_3361699536237413347_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIVb-Go_XSyeIiPPPAyOpbAo5GeRUXFgOT4gRn_b1PT_pP5DP0Xga8wEVq7EIEZnRfPtg6V-dkhFVZ7CEEU0lRqoSqGP4ACwrccGpRcyzgOqg9NtEFLSlANewENgNh41DypxlZIg/s1600/10462561_10152310550968737_3361699536237413347_n.jpg" height="200" width="150" /></a></div>
I started with a $5 chair purchased at Goodwill and stripped off the tattered caning. Assorted mosaic pieces were used to cover the caning holes. Although, time consuming, the end result was quite stunning (at least I think so).<br />
<br />
I lightly sanded the chair before applying a base coat of spray paint. My plan was to spray paint all the different colors, but that proved to be a bad idea. There is no way to control the direction of the spray. I resorted to hand brushing and it worked well.<br />

It was a live and learn experience.<br />
<br />
Elmer's All-Purpose glue was used to secure the mosaic pieces to the chair. Natural color grout was then applied according the the direction provided on the container. I purchased premixed craft grout online at Dick Blick's. A coat of Krylon Brand clear coat was sprayed over the tiles to help protect them from the elements.<br />

Mosaic tiles pieces were purchased online from Oriental Trading. They offer many different color assortments and reasonable prices.<br />

<br />
It has taken a year of planning to get this Italy trip on the calendar and I can't believe it is happening this month (July 19 - July 29). Jenni, my A.T.I director, will handle "All Things Important"while I am away. I have total confidence in her ability to run business operations as usual. Nichelle and Chelsea will oversee warehouse operations to ensure orders are processed timely.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBTBYVV7YDHHfG_d3IY0KBTDSpenSwiFHSlLhanLQmZyhycN0lRpwWBoQu8p2QZjAZvH-6Be7h2JaiKozL87PKI3_UfPiuIuG374atUsuFmNMJYmeRij0XRIWXQe8OR2yZJ59zgA/s1600/1622143.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBTBYVV7YDHHfG_d3IY0KBTDSpenSwiFHSlLhanLQmZyhycN0lRpwWBoQu8p2QZjAZvH-6Be7h2JaiKozL87PKI3_UfPiuIuG374atUsuFmNMJYmeRij0XRIWXQe8OR2yZJ59zgA/s1600/1622143.jpg" height="320" width="184" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
<br />
The Italy trip will encompass travels to Milano, Venice, Tuscany, Siena, Florence and Lake Garda. With my husband being in the fine wine business, there are many travel perks which we will enjoy; including 5-star hotels and a 3-night stay at Castle Vicchiomaggio in Tuscany.<br />
<br />
ON THE BUSINESS END:</div>
<br />
There are currently a number of business changes in the works which includes a 15-cent price increase on Mold Market molds. Our last price increase was over 3 years ago and we are no longer able to absorb the continued price increase of plastic materials.<br />
<br />
The updated prices go into effect September 1, 2014, and will appear on both Mold Market, Amazon and GoPlanetEarth web sites. <br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEXsnJ2307NNUDr6QuYLsZQ-hU66jCjHJ4Pw2r4h2wY6drMsWspqN0UWfB4jWVJyHOmDsEMizgBs_iqWv6nu5iwqOeZaEtmVtedHJ3HX8cocLFlLTQGWTUQauwhodhFjyfit3kDA/s1600/IMG_0179.JPG" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEXsnJ2307NNUDr6QuYLsZQ-hU66jCjHJ4Pw2r4h2wY6drMsWspqN0UWfB4jWVJyHOmDsEMizgBs_iqWv6nu5iwqOeZaEtmVtedHJ3HX8cocLFlLTQGWTUQauwhodhFjyfit3kDA/s1600/IMG_0179.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a><br />
At the same time, order fulfillment for <u>Mold Market customers</u> (both retail, Amazon and wholesale distributors) will shift to our facility in Washington state. I am now determining the best way to make this transition as smooth as possible in both shipping costs and time in transit.<br />
<br />
<br />
In January 2015 all Mold Market mold productions will be done at our Washington plant. This added benefit guarantees you will consistently receive the best product and materials in the market as we personally implement quality-control checks on every production. <br />
<br />
There are so many new, exciting things going on in the background that I can't share yet; but stay tuned.<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dwWrHyaQZqTfe2mlz1IjluhAnpTt1q91l7I_Ek_mOl2lZeXh1OssBlnSy6qHn5qtqksvimjjDYNZf4' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br /><br />Here is a brief video clip of our recent trip to Washington. It shows how Mold Market molds are formed by one of the top USA mold makers in the industry. Lucky us (and you), to have an exclusive contract with the best of the best. <br />
<br />
I look forward to sharing my wonderful Italy trip as well as all the exciting things in the works at Mold Market and GoPlanetEarth.<br />

<br />
I've been on a Goodwill store craft craze the past month. There are so many wonderful finds that can be re-purposed for just a few dollars. I spotted six clear glass vases for 49 cents each. My mind whirred as I imagined all the things I could do with these vases. This pictures shows my final results.<br />
<br />
I printed Scott's Rose pictures and sized them to fit the vases. Using a foam brush, apply Modge Pod to the back side of the pictures and carefully position in place. Let dry for about 15 minutes and apply a coat of Modge Pod to fronts of pictures. I used an antique Modge Pod for a vintage look.<br />
<br />
The faux rose flowers stems were purchased at the local Dollar Store. The entire bunch cost $6 and filled six small vases and one large drain tile vase (pictured in the middle). The grand kids picked mini apples from the fruit trees in the yard and a wooden skewer was inserted to showcase them in the vases.<br />
<br />
I had a couple of foam blocks leftover from another craft project and cut to fit inside the vases to hold the faux roses in place. Water was added to the vase to keep the greenery fresh (I snipped branches from trees in the yard).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Each vase cost less than $2 to make, and as you can see, the finished results were quite striking. <br />
Mod Podge was used as the glue and sealer for this project. A thin coat was applied to the canvas and also to the back of each paper. A sponge brush works best for the application process.<br />
<br />
I took a picture of the layout before applying the Mod Podge and used it as a reference when positioning the pieces. The lettering was printed on handmade paper and trimmed to fit.<br />
<br />
The colors, arrangement of papers, embellishments and design elements are endless. Consider adding vintage buttons, jewels or pearls for a 3-D effect.</div>

<br />My recent trip to our local Goodwill yielded some great finds. I picked
up this wooden 4 x 24" plaque for $1.99. It previously read <i>Bordeaux</i> but that was about to change, as shown above.<br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4dWXDfMbxOjVRnTFErP3RJzQLe1orwwWSASxONIAP_dDAdcFJZCngv4sST1F89qKBFnHIxruwVeV-s0fwQ2HRWFRObiHWiTalxLVMSFPf8CdgsHJL3j8u7vVRlKZ68Y2VxoQqUg/s1600/itsAllGood.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4dWXDfMbxOjVRnTFErP3RJzQLe1orwwWSASxONIAP_dDAdcFJZCngv4sST1F89qKBFnHIxruwVeV-s0fwQ2HRWFRObiHWiTalxLVMSFPf8CdgsHJL3j8u7vVRlKZ68Y2VxoQqUg/s1600/itsAllGood.jpg" height="198" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />I recently returned from a trip to Spokane to meet with my business partner, Jefre. We have had many laughs about his over-abundant use of saying,<i> It's All Good</i> and I couldn't help myself, I had to make him this wall plaque.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3hu2qBoh7fwsrMDv3BQpwinXbLPF2o33sCR-O4rnqKMiADCTWDJ6wpttRU8J-TKMU4j1IcZoMKpYHL5RkAkpgyAhqAk227af6Hu3QtFRTb6sgMn3ZEPqMw9E4XEY7xCeVLDNEsA/s1600/IMG_1064.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3hu2qBoh7fwsrMDv3BQpwinXbLPF2o33sCR-O4rnqKMiADCTWDJ6wpttRU8J-TKMU4j1IcZoMKpYHL5RkAkpgyAhqAk227af6Hu3QtFRTb6sgMn3ZEPqMw9E4XEY7xCeVLDNEsA/s1600/IMG_1064.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I peeled off the original <i>Bordeaux</i> paper layer and cleaned the plaque the best I could; any rough areas were sanded. Both the front and back sides were then given a coat of matte black paint (be sure to do this outdoors). Allow to dry.<br />
<br />
<br />
While the board was drying, I designed the lettering using MS Publisher setting my print page as 4 x 24". The extended length required three sheets of paper which were cut and trimmed to fit the front of the board.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFwNW81KmCK8cUuhXkJtM5xcwkiTP6mWkAH1sp4FppgoE5FDYyssAu9rietqbeTBRAznVUL-xmjjQW_km4FotISdnDebVkZ8gX16rdGXM7kTcsVq9TuCq1RUlBL_X_GRUFUM7AUg/s1600/IMG_1066.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFwNW81KmCK8cUuhXkJtM5xcwkiTP6mWkAH1sp4FppgoE5FDYyssAu9rietqbeTBRAznVUL-xmjjQW_km4FotISdnDebVkZ8gX16rdGXM7kTcsVq9TuCq1RUlBL_X_GRUFUM7AUg/s1600/IMG_1066.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Position the three sheets as close together as you can without overlapping the edges. Tape the underside of the papers to keep the lined edges in place.<br />
<br />
Align the paper onto the board, flip the board to the back side and use a pencil to trace the outline of the cut.<br />
<br />
Cut along the penciled area and trim if necessary to fit the board.<br />
<br />
<br />

Set aside and apply a thick coat of Mod Podge to the back of the paper. Make sure you apply the Mod Podge in one direction.<br />
<br />
I used a foam brush to apply the Mod Podge mixture which are readily available from Home Depot or any hardware store.<br />
<br />
Position the paper onto the board and remove any air bubbles with a roller.Allow to dry for two hours before applying a top coat of Mod Podge. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The Mod Podge should be applied to the front of the paper in thin coats and all in the same direction. Make sure to apply the mixture along the edges of the plaque.<br />
<br />
I used two thin coats of Mod Podge for this plaque and let it dry overnight. Allow the first layer to dry for at least 15 minutes before applying the next layer.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyNKCApTj5EywuJQHWCxXcloprx7dufFN6vX6enlB1X2YBJo4vvizNZa_rEc5Q94hbnkzUexcT9_L3Kh4JjW3UzVSW5435ERkK2wgyhyphenhyphen3PnvlqHP3qz8HCSEDnlv0ZgVcvK7ePtQ/s1600/IMG_1102.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyNKCApTj5EywuJQHWCxXcloprx7dufFN6vX6enlB1X2YBJo4vvizNZa_rEc5Q94hbnkzUexcT9_L3Kh4JjW3UzVSW5435ERkK2wgyhyphenhyphen3PnvlqHP3qz8HCSEDnlv0ZgVcvK7ePtQ/s1600/IMG_1102.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
To add interest, I mixed a small amount of Burnt Umber Acrylic paint with water and brushed on in random places before applying the Mod Podge. This technique will really depend on the type of paper you have used. I used a heavier gauge handmade paper for this plaque and it readily accepted the brushed paint. Thinner paper may not be so kind.<br />
<br />
Allow the plaque (or project) to set up overnight. If you need to speed up the process, you can use a blow dryer on a low setting.<br />
<br />

<div class="MsoNormal">
<br />I just returned from Florida and one of my Vero Beach pit
stops is Mrs. Mac’s Fillin’ Station Restaurant. Their clever marketing strategy
leaves customers standing in line to get a table. Yes, the food is plentiful and
certainly lures in returning customers; but, it is the unique way they have
chosen to market their business that sets them apart from the rest.<br /><br /><br /> </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
As you enter the restaurant an old Gulf gasoline pump lends
itself to the eatery’s fifties nostalgia. Menus are made from recycled license
plates and red mechanic shop towels are used as napkins. Oil cans or wrench
hang from the pant loops of the farmer jean uniforms; and worker assumes an
automotive name while they wait tables.<br /><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
If you want to generate new sales and business in today’s
market, you need to have a solid marketing plan in place. The old school
thought of ‘build it/make it’ and they will come’ mindset is no longer a viable
option for online sellers. A recent visit to a famous downtown street market in
Charleston reminded me of this truth.<br /><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I watched customers walk the corridors lined with seller
booths; most held little product appeal. However, there were a few booths that seemed
to lure the masses into their marketing net with little effort.<br /><br /></div>

We live in a world driven by technology and taking product
to market requires more than a web site, storefront or vendor booth. Knowledge
of social media venues has become critical to the success of every business. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Competition, in the past, was limited to
regional or local businesses. But the birth of the internet changed all that; our
competition is now global and this isn’t about to change<br /><br /><br /> </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The rapid pace of technological development will continue to
be a challenge to all of us; even more so for small businesses and entrepreneurs
who tend to be understaffed and lack the funds for a marketing budget.<br /><br /><br /><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Here are six ways to
market your product online with a shoestring budget:<br /></b></div>
<ol>
<li>Build customer relationships through social
media programs. Take a look at what your competitors are doing socially. Understand,
however, social media is not a one-stop marketing strategy and it does not generate
overnight sales. Dedicate one hour a day to maintain your social media presence.

establish you as an expert in your field. Include a “share this” button at the
bottom of each post for easy distribution. I use WordPress to blog and find it
easy to use; it’s free to download and offer fully-customizable themed templates
for under $100.</li>
<li><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;"></span></span>Post relevant and helpful content on your web
site or seller pages that will keep customers returning to your site. Not every
post should be related to making a sale.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Instead, post information that can be linked to other sites which will boost
your SEO rankings. </li>
<li><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;"><span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"></span></span></span>Give customers a reason to trust your company.
Post customer comments about your products and service. Provide contact
information including both an email address and phone number. Check voice and
emails several times a day. Use your social media accounts to keep an eye out
for problems with your product or service and step in with help.</li>
<li><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;"></span></span>Target your online audience with the use SEO key
words, relevant web page titles and major search engine registrations.</li>
<li>
<span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;"></span></span>Identify and target your ideal selling audience.
Consider a narrower marketing niche so you can better present yourself as an
expert and stand apart from the crowd. As you gather your database of
customers, treat it like gold because it is the primary vehicle to communicate your
marketing message.</li>
</ol>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="mso-list: l1 level1 lfo2; text-indent: -.25in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Concentrate your marketing time and energy based on the
Pareto’s Principle, also known as the 80/20 rule. Consider that 80% of your
business comes from 20% of your customers. So, for maximum results you should
utilize 80% of your marketing budget and time on retaining and expanding the
sales of the top 20% of your customer base. Implement loyalty programs to show
appreciation. This might include free samples; buy one get one free, discount coupons
or referral rewards.<br /><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Make integrity the core ingredient of your business and you
will succeed in marketing on a shoestring budget. Integrity doesn’t cost a
thing, but without it, it will cost you everything. </div>

I wanted to send a couple of Get Well cards to friends this week and decided to make my own. This was the result and it was easy-peasy to do. I've even included a printable template for you to use. Sorry, you'll have to provide your own band-aids and gauze (said with a big grin).<br />
<br />

<br />
I used two sheets of creme color card stock paper. The card is sized to fit inside a 6 x 9" catalog envelope. It may require additional postage so you may want to weigh before mailing.<br />

<br />
My granddaughter wanted popcorn at her birthday party. In keeping with the <a href="http://goplanetearth.blogspot.com/2014/05/rainbow-art-party-for-kids.html" target="_blank">Rainbow Art Party theme</a> I created popcorn cones and stand. It was inexpensive and made eating popcorn way more fun. The cones can also be filled with assorted candies for each party guest.<br />
<br />
Another great way to decorate the cone box is with your child's hand prints dipped in finger paint. How cute (and fun) to have colorful hand prints covering the white paper.<br />
<br />
<b>You will need:</b><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>White craft paper</li>
<li>Color printer</li>
<li>White card stock</li>
<li>Clear tape</li>
<li>6-inch wide netting, cut into 12-15" lengths</li>
<li>Postal box that is sized for shoes</li>
<li>Double-sided tape</li>
<li>Box cutter</li>
<li>Masking or painters tape</li>
<li>Cone template (<a href="http://goplanetearth.com/birthdaycone.pdf" target="_blank">found here</a>) </li>
</ul>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOtCnengjS5DvDkIQtqjmwrGhjobM7MSrliFonimQBa081ZSzi4JKwt4xTkX1lxgNQ2aNuS4xNY3dYvqx9ZgeEwGMDx7VAVci1lYFZjzygN-A4Uak6Ecm23JikXrvyTPnX_fW49A/s1600/IMG_0046.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOtCnengjS5DvDkIQtqjmwrGhjobM7MSrliFonimQBa081ZSzi4JKwt4xTkX1lxgNQ2aNuS4xNY3dYvqx9ZgeEwGMDx7VAVci1lYFZjzygN-A4Uak6Ecm23JikXrvyTPnX_fW49A/s1600/IMG_0046.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<u><b>How To:</b></u><br />
<br />
<ol>
<li>Assemble box, tape ends</li>
<li>Use box cutter to cut 6 holes. Make holes large enough to hold the cones.</li>
<li>Tape around edges of the cuts with masking or painters tape.</li>
<li>Wrap box with white Kraft paper( like you would a gift).</li>
<li>Use box cutter to make "X" cuts in each circle cut-out. Fold back the white paper in each hole and secure to inside of box with clear tape.</li>
<li>Decorate box as desired. I used grosgrain ribbon and cutout the circle shapes that appeared on the cones. <a href="http://goplanetearth.com/birthdaycone.pdf" target="_blank">See attached PDF file.</a></li>
<li>Print cone design on card stock paper and use the cone template to trace cone design.</li>
<li>Cut out cone shape, roll and secure with clear tape.</li>
</ol>

This past week I've been assembling everything I need for my granddaughter's birthday party. She decided on a rainbow theme to celebrate my newly published children's book titled Remember the Rainbow. Olivia loves to draw and paint so I suggested a Rainbow Art Party.<br />
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwLFAp4ktXmFrDBnGFJ22WZt3E8FKtbZRoGCjZscuaZKMfOukBfuMmxV6maxgBcg224lYk5pfTeSUuf6XnZ7LZ-m3Lg6VVRmEkth8lIwp1vrRCmSQIRvUCAIgvZYrAvV4u_rM_sQ/s1600/IMG_0028.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwLFAp4ktXmFrDBnGFJ22WZt3E8FKtbZRoGCjZscuaZKMfOukBfuMmxV6maxgBcg224lYk5pfTeSUuf6XnZ7LZ-m3Lg6VVRmEkth8lIwp1vrRCmSQIRvUCAIgvZYrAvV4u_rM_sQ/s1600/IMG_0028.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Each guest will receive a canvas with a pencil drawn design of the rainbow (shown left). Once painted, they can outline with a black Sharpie, add cotton clouds and colorful buttons.<br />
<br />
A chalkboard greeting outside the front door welcomes party guests. <br />
<br />
Pizza, rainbow Slurpee, a rainbow candy bar and pink lemonade are all on the menu. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The backdrop for the photo shoot are plastic table clothes hung from a wooden dowel. I'll post pictures later of all the girls. Each girl will receive a frame to hold their photo shoot picture.<br />

<br />
<ul>
<li>Lemonade stand</li>
<li>Jumbo rainbow slurpee</li>
<li>A colorful synergy maze </li>
<li>Gift bags that contain Crayola window markers, a copy of my new book, flavored lip gloss and a six pack of rainbow colored nail polish.</li>

</ul>
<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Synergy is created when things work in concert together to create an outcome that done through the joint effort and cooperative action of two or more individuals.<br />
<br />
<br />
My synergy maze uses yarn. Each child is given a color and must find their way to the end of their color to receive their gift bag. What makes it fun is that all the different colors are interwoven around obstacles and will require the joint effort of each participant to untangle their way to the prize.<br />
<br />
This will be done outdoors which is great for helping the kids expend excess energy. They wind their yarn around a cover toilet paper roll.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisFyJOEpaYnL4ZgrK87bDWnVU_dFBNaa5jnPXRsfzOqr6jtFBFMXkQ-UjxqMMVqgQUkLZARaJ5suibDKPfezWtA_Z-0RZtV3ucKUe5HN5qxw3ZbTi7nxt5V7UalNnaQqzkjaR95g/s1600/IMG_0071.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisFyJOEpaYnL4ZgrK87bDWnVU_dFBNaa5jnPXRsfzOqr6jtFBFMXkQ-UjxqMMVqgQUkLZARaJ5suibDKPfezWtA_Z-0RZtV3ucKUe5HN5qxw3ZbTi7nxt5V7UalNnaQqzkjaR95g/s1600/IMG_0071.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I will post follow-up pics once the party gets into full gear and the final details are executed... like the giant rainbow slurpee, lemonade stand and synergy maze.<br />
<br />
The set-up has been fun, it's the take-down that I'm dreading. But, if it creates memories for my granddaughter, it is all worth it.<br />
